Small Christian Communities

What are Small Christian Communities?

Small Christian Communities help ordinary people help each other to connect life and faith regularly. It is hoped that through participation in a SCC members make a real difference in each ther’s lives and faith.  (Small Christian Communities have been part of the fabric of St. Timothy Parish since the days of Renew
in the early 1970’s. Presently we have five active small groups.)

How do I become part of a Small Christian Community?

If you know someone who is already in a group, you might consider approaching them to bring you to their group.  If not, you may begin one with interested friends and neighbors by calling Pat Piano at the Rectory, 860-232-8594.

How much time does it require?

Small Christian Communities usually meet from once each month to once each week depending on the groups.  Because most groups eventually engage in some kind of outreach to the poor or to a socially redeemable project, additional hours could be spent as needed.

How do I know if this is the right group for me?

  • If you like people.
  • If your faith is important to you.
  • If you want to get more involved in parish life.
  • If you seek social justice.
  • If you like to reflect.

If you are looking for folks who can support and encourage a life of faith

….any of the above makes you a fine candidate to be in a SCC.
